CHARDHAM YATRA [11 Nights/ 12 Nights]

Day 1 - Delhi / Haridwar (215 kms)

Once in Haridwar, attend evening Ganga Arti at the famous Har Ki Pauri. Then arrive at Hotel Godwin to a warm welcome. Enjoy dinner & stay over for the night.

Day 2 : Haridwar - Barkot Drive: 250 kms (7-8 hrs)

After breakfast, take a short walk in the jungle during which you visit the Sursingdhar Devta Temple and Suri Devi temple. Return to the lodge for breakfast and then depart for Barkot. Overnight .
Day 3 : Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot Drive (90 kms both ways) & Trek (10 kms both ways)


Early morning, drive 45 kms to Jankichatti and begin the walk to Yamunotri which is 5 kms away. At Yamunotri, darshan at the temple and one can also have a dip in the warm waters of the Jamnabhai Kund and visit the Divya Shila pillar. In the afternoon, walk back to Jankichatti and drive back to Barkot. Overnight .

Day 4 : Barkot - Harsil Drive (135 kms / 4 - 5 hrs)

Early morning departure for Harsil. Enroute stopover at Uttarkashi to visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple here. Continue the drive to Harsil and here check into the HIMALAYAN ECO LODGE & CAMPS. Harsil is a beautiful hamlet located at an altitude of 9000 ft. There are a number of beautiful trails that surround this area where one could set off on invigorating walks.

Day 5 : Harsil - Gangotri - Harsil Drive (40 kms both ways)

Post breakfast, drive to Gangotri. The drive would take about 1 hr and you would drive along the Bhagirathi river and pass through dense forests. Once at Gangotri, go for the darshan in the main temple and later visit a few important sites like the Bhairav Nath temple, Pandava Gufa, Surya Kund waterfalls, etc. Towards evening head back towards Harsil. After a warm dinner, sleep comfortbaly .

Day 6 : Harsil - Kund Drive (300 kms / 9-10 hours)

After breakfast this morning, drive to Kund. Once in Kund relax in the scenic surrounding with the River Mandakini flowing by and the Kedar peak in the distance. In the evening, visit the Ukhimath temple, the winter seat of the Kedarnath deity, and then return to the lodge for overnight stay.

Day 7 : Kund - Gaurikund Drive (45 kms / 1-2 hrs) and Kedarnath Trek (14 kms)


After early breakfast, depart for Gaurikund. This drive would take a couple of hours as you gain altitude and come to the base of Kedarnath at Gaurikund from where you would start your trek for the temple. The trek is for 14 kms and would take 4-5 hrs to complete. Once at Kedarnath, head to the temple for the aarti and return to check into your guesthouse for the night. Stay overnight in your guesthouse.

Day 8 : Kedarnath - Gaurikund Trek (14 kms) Kund Drive (45 kms / 1-2 hours)

In the morning, head to the temple for another darshan and post breakfast, start walking back to Gaurikund. On reaching Gaurikund, drive back to Kund. Depending on the time available visit the Narayankoti temple complex, Guptakashi temple and Kalimath. Once in the lodge, relax the tired muscles by a crackling bonfire followed by dinner and retire to your tents.

Day 9:Kund - Joshimath (Kurala) Drive (110 kms / 5-6 hours)


After an early breakfast, begin the drive to Joshimath. Enroute, stopover at Chopta and here enjoy for some time in the bugyals (high altitude meadows). You also get wonderful views of the snow clad Himalayan peaks from here. For those interested, you can take a trek to the Tungnath temple (the highest Shiva shrine in the world) and later continue to Joshimath. Enroute visit the Gopinath temple at Gopeshwar. Arrive in Joshimath by the evening and you could head off to the Narsing Devta temple (winter seat of the Badrinath deity) temple for darshan.

Day 10 : Joshimath - Badrinat - Joshimath Drive (80 kms both ways / 4 hours)

Post breakfast, drive up to Badrinath. In Badrinath also visit the Tapt Kund, Narayan Kund, Mata Murty temple, Bhim Pul, etc. and also visit Mana village (the last temple  on the Indian border). In Mana, you can shop for some local handicrafts and handmade woollen items. You can also take a walk to the thundering Vasundhara Falls. Later in the afternoon, head back to Joshimath.

Day 11: Joshimaht - Jayalgarh (Drive 175 kms / 5-6 hrs)

Early breakfast and depart for GIO’s riverside camp, Camp High 5 in Jayalgarh. Enroute stopover at Rudraprayag to  see the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. This camp is located on the banks of the River Alaknanda and is a perfect location to end your trip. On this day you could relax on the banks of the river or visit the Chandrabadni temple that is located a couple of hours away. For those who are interested, you could do an exciting rafting trip on the Alaknanda (optional) to make your trip more memorable. In the night, bonfire and dinner by the riverside.
